One of the reasons I'm looking at vBulletin is to allow my club members to have a private area where Dues Paying Members can view and post but everyone else cannot access. But I also want people who are just visitors to register before they can post in the "free" areas. Can forums be set up as private but not be for administrators & moderators? I see that there are: (COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation Administrator Moderators Registered Super Moderator Unregistered / Not Logged In Users Awaiting Email Confirmation but no "Certified Members." Is this something that an Administrator can add? Once someone has paid can they be added in one place and then have instant access to all of the Private members area forums?Yes, yo...... - 2009-07-03

Is there a bigger donkey in the UK than Repka? his last performance against fulham was pathetic. they must have someone they can throw in there.Repka = CrapkaThat sums it up pretty much. I am amazed he is still even in London. I dont think he could play for Palace. Ship his ass back to Romania or Bulgaria or something.Who signed him anyway? Was it Roeder or Redknapp - I forget. Either way, here's a lesson for all managers in training: If a player makes it known he doesn't want to leave his current team and play for you, best to leave him alone - even if you are feeling ballsy and want to ************ away 5 million. » Help us to knight Nat!

Alright BigSoccer users, Over on The Wanderer, the Trotters' online fanzine and forum, we have been running a campaign since May this year to secure a knighthood for Nat Lofthouse, a Bolton Wanderers legend and servant to the Club for sixty-six years. We feel that it is about time that Nat’s status as one of football’s true greats, and his contribution to the game, should be recognised with a knighthood, in the same way as his contemporaries Sir Stanley Matthews and Sir Tom Finney already have been. The campaign has really been gathering momentum in the few months since its launch; we have already had pledges of support from Cllr. I have a Gold Coast GT-700 tripod, and over New Years' took it out in the snow to take firework pictures. My hands were freezing and it was dark, so I couldn't really tell what I was doing, and while adjusting the pan-handle the piece that holds it on fell off... I scrambled around in the snow and thought that I grabbed all the pieces, but must have missed the very end screw piece that holds it all on. I've been searching to try to find the piece, but since I'm not even sure what it looks like, I haven't been very successful. I'm trying to learn a little bit about Hebrew now. What surprising me is most of Hebrew phrases, style of speaking and grammar is somehow have a lot of similarity to Arabic. For your information, I am already learning Arabic for years. So, what is your opinion?Hebrew and Arabic both belong to the Semitic family of languages, so they have many similarities in both structure and vocabulary. Their alphabets are also related, and both are written from right to left. Both languages originated in the same area (somewhere around modern Iraq) from a common ancestor language in ancient times. I'm trying to print a mc from flash. The mc has dimensions 1000x1400 pixels which doesn't allow it to print on one page. So I'm forced to scale it a little bit. Unfortunatelly the final result is very bad. In fact the result when I try to print it without scale (just the part of the mc that can be printed) is much worse that when I print the content of that mc (an image) independantly. Bottom line: when I print the content of an MC from flash the result is much worse then when I print the content itself, without flash So I was wondering is there other way to make my mc fit to a printable A4 page or any other advise you can give me? France cuts bird flu risk level, says threat falls http://uk.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUKL0755801420070507 PARIS (Reuters) - France has reduced its precautions against bird flu as the risk of the disease hitting the country has become negligible again, the agriculture ministry said on Monday. France, Europe's biggest poultry producer, had raised its official risk level from "negligible" to "weak" in February after bird flu struck a British poultry plant, leading to the culling of around 160,000 turkeys. "The surveillance and protection measures put in place did not lead to the detection of the highly pathogenic H5N1 virus on the French territory," the ministry said in a statement. Mind you I have tried these on a speedlight strobe not a proper studio one but I think the results may translate across. That sounds right to me. While they basically do the same thing, there are subtle (or not so subtle) differences. The fall off, for example. Honeycomb grids, in a reflector dish, have little or no light spillage. my husband got a sony blu- ray player on black friday on sale for 199.99, we watched our first blu ray movie on it the Other night and it was Widescreen! im not a big fan of that. we have a 46' samsung LCD tv. i like full screen and it seems like the blu-ray really cuts it down!!! so is it really work it?Grumpy Mac has it right. What kind of LCD do you have? 720p or 1080p? you can only tell a major difference if you have the 1080p. If you have a 720p, blu ray is pointless because HDTV's upscale regular dvd's on regular dvd players. so you wouldn't notice much even with the blu ray player and format discs. if you have 1080p stick with blu ray and obviously you have to mess around with some settings if you have 7...... - 2009-07-03

» Brautigan's The Boat

Looking for an exegesis on Richard Brautigan's short poem 'The Boat.' Are there any critical pieces out there dealing with this work? Is the werewolf in the poem America? Did Brautigan ever address the meaning of this poem anywhere? Any guidance appreciated.I haven't found any critical writing on this particular poem (which is named "A Boat", by the way). The closest I got was a recording of Brautigan's reading of the poem. Let us know if there's anything more you can tell us about your interest in this particular poem. Assembly has gone pretty well on my new 3650. But when I went to install the lower section of the lift, it seems that the holes at the front are just a little bit further apart that the 20" space between the holes in the leg brackets. I loosened all the nuts on the lower assembly thinking I could 'skew' it into place but this didn't work either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I did download a better manual but it did not shed any light on this issue. Thanking you in advance! There is a thread called TS-3650 Assembly Tips, I would highly recommend reading that if you are new. It's in this particular forum (Tips and Techniques). You have my affection; you will never find yourself asking for my loyalty. What now ******? You've got me by the heart, and by the balls, at the same time. I've few options, here, Chief. » 01 civic lockup problem?

I recently rebuilt an 01 civic transmission. Now I have a TCC lockup problem. The torque converter was swapped with a re-man twice now. I have since torn down the tranny again to inspect the valve body and clutches which, I can find no obvious problems. The second accumulator has and extra spring but ran fine for 80000 miles and I have good advice to reinstall it as it has nothing to do with lock up. All of the valves move freely and all of the o rings are new and un damaged. I have electrically tested the tcc solenoid and the ohms are good but when it is hooked up to 12 volts it tries to move the valve but doesn't. I need to know whether the tcc solenoid is normally open or closed, and if it requires hydraulic pressure to assist in va...... - 2009-07-03

Hi everyone, I posted recently on the beginners board about my interest in getting into DSLR photography, however, I have not been able to find a set up that would be within my budget and still suit my needs. I have acquired an interest in macrophotography and macro lenses tend to run more than I am willing to pay right now (when you consider the base cost of a camera and all the "necessary" accessors). So, I have begun researching advanced point and shoot. However, I am taking a trip to Yosemite tomorrow and I would like to be able to make my decision by the end of this afternoon. So far, I am looking at the Canon PowerShot G9 (possibly the G7, but it doesn't support RAW and I would prefer that any camera I get take pictures in RAW inc...... - 2009-07-03

Lack of awareness on flu proving fatal: virologist http://www.nationmultimedia.com/images/space.gif The two latest victims of the avian-flu virus died due to insufficient surveillance and the lack of a proper warning system, leading virologist Prasert Thongcharoen said yesterday. "No one warned them the virus was even out there," he said, referring to residents of Phichit and Uthai Thani, the provinces where the first and second bird fatalities this year were reported, respectively. When chickens in these areas died, the victims simply used the birds for cooking or handled the carcasses without proper protection - unaware of the existence of the virus, he said. » Pronunciation - Walt Whitman reference

How do you pronounce Kanuck? (as in Walt Whitman's "Kanuck Woods")Dear rosyb-ga; Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. Whitman?s use of the term ?Kanuck? is a variation of the French Canadian word ?Canuck?; a slang word used (sometimes offensively) to describe Canadians, especially a French Canadians. It has been traced through U.S. dictionaries as Canuck, Canack, Cunnuck and Kanuck, the last one (1835) meaning a Dutch or French Canadian. » How can i get rid of a really bad earache?

i have had a really bad earache for nearly a week now. i went to the doctors yesterday and she said it wasnt infected and it hasnt got any wax in it. she gave me some co codamol but it isnt working. has anyone got any ideas how i can get ride of the pain thankyouWarm oil is probably the best treatment. Temperature test a drop on your wrist to make sure it isn't too hot for your ear. Treat one ear at a time. Keep that ear up while lying down for 20 to 30 minutes. Then treat the other ear. Good luck. When I was younger my mom always gave me a hot water bottle to sleep with when I had an earache. If you don't have an actual water bottle (I'm not sure they still make them!) then you can try using a a Listerine bottle, but you wo...... - 2009-07-03

» Matches maps ??????

I was wondering. When I was in Japan(70-71) just about every business had match books or boxes with a little map of their location. If there was a chance I might want to return there, I just took some matches and wrote on it in english a little about the place. When I wanted to go back, I just gave it to the taxi driver, and they would take me there. To this day, I still have a bunch of matches in a box down cellar I saved. IT sure made getting around easier, till I learned some Japanese. Another trick I used was getting a Japanese person to write out a location I wanted to go to on paper (legibly), and giving it to the taxi driver to take me there. Make sure it is someone you trust; my Japanese "buddy" wrote down something about drop...... - 2009-07-03

Vegan, artistic, charismatic. Was treated badly by his father which led to him being overly attached to his mother Was a messenger in WW1 (running across enemy terrain to get messages to HQ and the front lines) Was hit with poison gas in WW1 and it is believed this is why he did not use it in WW2 (except against the Jews) Semi charred corpse was apparently found by the Soviets in Berlin Tended not to engage in sex. » Would you shoot a wedding with this gear?

Hi I am about to shoot my first wedding! It's a 'mates rates' affair wherein the couple weren't going to have a photographer at all due to funds. So I agreed to do it on the basis of them understanding I'm not a trained or even practiced wedding photographer. That said, I'm really reading up on what I need to do and things to make sure I get it right...anyway, that's another issue. What I've come to ask is this - my cameras are a Nikon D70s and a Nikon F80. My lenses are the Nikon 20mm 2.8 prime, 50mm 1.8 prime, 60mm 2.8 prime and 80-200mm 2.8 Zoom, a Manfrotto tripod with ball and socket adjustable quick release head and mono-pod option, and circular reflector\diffuser. In my view, while it's not the most professional gear, I think it...... - 2009-07-03

» Shooting concert in barn

Hello. There's a show coming up soon with some local bands, and it'll be inside a barn. So I'm guessing pretty dark. I want to take some pictures in black and white, be using Kodak 400 B&W. Wondering any advice on using my flash in there or any techniques/tips anyone could offer.. Thank you. :mrgreen:If it were me, I'd use faster film than 400. Something like 1600 or maybe 800. Those nice grainy shots of bands always look fabulous. But the band I'm doing photos for at the moment really likes that grainy look so I might be a bit biased there. Depends on the type of group it is as well I guess. I wouldn't use the flash on the camera, it's probably not powerful enough. If you can get a nice external flash you'll never regret it. They're exp...... - 2009-07-03

» Optimize My MS Access Query

My Problem: I have two update queries in a Microsoft Access database with the same SQL, but one runs in 2.000 sec. The second one is slower because it has a query plan that is not optimal for the data currently in the database. After I compact the database, I would expect the queries to be recompiled so that they both run fast. In fact, the opposite is true ? both take >2.000 sec to run. I have posted my database on: http://www.geocities.com/milewskp/ee/ (then click on FastSlowTX.zip ). When you extract and then open the mdb file, you will see the two queries: qryFast and qrySlow. Initially, qryFast is fast and qrySlow is slow, but after you compact the database, they will both be slow. For convenience, the databa...... - 2009-07-03
