I caught the end of the news and it said that Montreal is gonna stop Formula 1, Why?
I'm sad to see Montreal go, and the galling thing is we lose it to make room for YET another soulless race in the middle of nowhere.
Abu Dhabi will be the season closer next year so something had to go to make room and Canada got the short straw.
Lucky us eh?
Maybe because the track was literally tearing apart this year.
The Canadians revealed that they were struggling to pay for F1 and quite frnakly technology has advanced so much and Montreal has not kept up with it. Bearing in mind the teams usually need quite a big garage for all their gear, they get about half as much space in Montreal. Also, Abu Dhabi, a new addition to next year's calendar, are offering big bucks for the races their. Can you see now why Ecclestone was happy to knock Montreal off the calendar?

Montreal didnt stop F1, F1 did... i dont really know why... money issues is my guess...
i could understand pulling out the US gp because of the very low interest F! generates and because of the economic recession there...that Michelin debacle a few seasons ago certainly didnt help...
but F1 is very popular in Canada with a huge following...
Dubai put up more money than the promoters in Montreal did.
Simple economics. The Montreal promoters thought that there should be some money from the race left over to pay them for their efforts. Bernie don't do that shyte. He's the greediest, money grubbing little snot that God ever breathed life into.
Someone clearly needs to unseat him from Formula One.
