Hello,
I am looking for a media player apart from WMP that will let me:
1. Play a huge number of songs (.mp3 format at very least)
2. Allow shuffled play
3. etc, etc.
Can anyone suggest such a player?
Best answer gets 10, of course.

Hi Rock of Faith
Winamp is a very much popular, nice-looking, skinnable, less resource hungry, and free media player. It has lots of plugins to play various formats and to display stunning visualizations. It plays videos also. It has Shuffling, Repeat, and Transparency properties. Download it from here:
http:\www.winamp.com
iTunes alternatives:

There are lots - Songbird is very nice, but not mature yet - definitely worth having in your computer. It's much cooler than iTunes, and it is completely free (meaning it doesn't force you to use their store, or register, or use any particular format for music) but -as I said- not mature.
I would definatly recommend Classic Winamp. it may not look too pretty, but it's not a CPU hog and it allows for shuffled play.
I hope this helps :D
