  • I've been off and on but I've been at it for about a week now, throwing up about everyday, maybe twice a day here and there. I know that it can hurt me really bad and I wish I would get that in my head because I don't want to be like this, It takes your life. I just threw up a lot and my heart is beating weird and my chest has sharp pains in it and its hard to breathe. My chest was like that last night too. I know you can mess you heart up, but is it from the Bulimia?

  • It's just the head rush. I was bulimic for 6 years. Your head will hurt, and your chest may ache, but a week....no. No way.

You talk about it like it's some job. I say, really, get out now. Diet, if you have to, excersize...but don't scarf and barf. I can't eat ice cream or soda or sweets any more [that may be a good thing] because my stomach is ****** UP. I used to get nauesiated from just being full. I hated any kind of food in my stomach, healthy or not.

And it takes over your life. All you do is start thinking 'What can I eat next" and then "when can I throw it up?" Even now, as a recovering bulimic, when you eat, you automatically start timing and schedueling your day around when the food has to come up.

Honestly, it's not worth it. Join a good sport, cut down on breads and pasta. Remember your stomach is only about the size of a fist, and eat accordingly. Chicken and carrots and apples and bananas and other low calorie food [go to google and type in 'neg calorie food'].

    Good luck.
And seriously: I continued being bulimic even when my insides were bleeding. It hurts: it makes you unable to eat certain foods in the furture, and once you start it's hard to stop. You are never fully recovered from something like this. It's something you fight for the rest of your life, even if the urge is no longer as strong, it's there. Don't **** up the REST OF YOUR LIFE because society says girls should be skinny.

Since your family has a history of heart problems, eating disorders will be especially dangerous for you. You could die.

[Among the listed above, I can't have spicy food any more. My stomach is VERY easily upset, and so traveling can sometimes be difficult. And you get mad crazy stomach pains, that will have you in the fetal position rocking back and forth to keep from crying.]

    Good luck

  • Excessive puking can mess you up, you're right about that.

Your chest may be hurting because after throwing up excessively, you can have an irregular heart beat, low blood pressure, a weakened heart in general, and even heart failure!

You need to get help for this now. It's good that you realize that you're hurting yourself. Now act on that.

  • I dont think your heat is messed up but if you keep doing this it will get messed up. Try seeking professional help, and also you can remind yourself that looking too skinny really doesnt look good and if you get too unhealthy you will start losing hair on your head and growing hair in other places which is aweful. I learned this for tortuous years of health class

  • A lot of things in life are done with repetition, I know that bulimia is a serious thing and can harm you if done long enough. After a meal or after eating something, when you think about going to "get rid of it" put a reminder above the toilet like a pic of someone or something that may help stop you. Than exercise for 20 min go for a run 1. It will help you feel better about yourself and also lose weight. 2. It will strengthen your heart and lungs and will give you time to reflect on the good things in your life.

  • I do believe you have to puke several times a day for a long time to start having heart palpatatios from it. Unless you have a week heart to begin with.

  • You should seek professional help. A physical check up would be the 1st place to start. Let the doctor clear you of any heart problems. If you tell him whats going on and you dont have any heart issues he may want to prescribe you something for anxiety or send you to a psychiatrist.
I would suggest a psychologist or therapist that has experience helping people with bulimia.
The heart palps and sharp chest pains are quite often a sign of anxiety.
Some may disagree with me but bulimia plays the same role as anxiety, ocd, panic etc etc.
Usually there is something bothering you deep inside and this draws your attention away from the emotions in your unconcious mind that are threatening to flow over into your unconcious.

Most will not agree with me. Try it for yourself and see.
    Above all, seek help.
