Yeah, definitely. And you can "Save as..." a flash mx 2004 file, to keep compatibility(although they don't let you just save as an mx04 file, which is annoying).

i think he means you need to use 'save as' everytime for MX04 format. as opposed to just using 'save'. but this makes sense.

You mean you can't save as MX? If you do than yes that is annoying. And if you don't then :h:.
I had to convert a FMX2004 source file to a Flash 5 file once for someone. Just saved it as FMX in FMX2004, and opened it in FMX, and saved it as Flash 5 :lol:
Guess same could be done with F8
