Hi,
Is there possibility to find out from SWF file if FLA file was developed under cracked Flash ?
Some way to read serial number from SWF ?
Thanks,
Worried?
:puzzle:
:)
I teach basics of Flash and lots of my candidates (mostly young people) ask me that question.
I suppose they want to expand their trial period :)
If serials would be stored in SWF's crackers coul'd fast enough rip it and use for their own purposes ;)
why?

Logically I don't think it would be possible. Most of the "cracked" Flash software is basically using a valid serial number that someone distributed. So technically, it works the same as the legal Flash software.
Now if the published SWF contained the serial number (either encoded or something) and there is a list of all the illegally distributed serial numbers, then it would probably be possible to see if the SWF was published with an illegal copy of Flash. But I doubt Macromedia would embed Flash serial number (in anyway) into a SWF. After all, all those SWF decompilers have already figured out each bit of encoded information of SWF and haven't found anything related to serial numbers.
Never heard of a way to determine that but this is leaning a lot towards pirating flash so it's best to avoid these kind of discussions.
EDIT: Sorry read the last post wrong. hehe.
But what about Student/Teacher Editions.....
I read somewhere when i first started using flash about 4 or so years ago... that its not to be used for personal or buisness puposes.... :cantlook:
That's true. Educational versions of software are only to be used for educational purposes.
What are the restrictions in using education versions of Macromedia products?
Education versions of Macromedia products are intended for instructional and administrative purposes only and may not be used for any commercial purpose. Macromedia will conduct periodic security audits to be certain of your education qualification.
No, not really, but you develop anything that attracts attention and you may find yourself up a creek.
